Hampton Downs Landfill
Project Overview
-
Hampton Downs Landfill required a large-scale stabilisation solution for both landfill capping and the development of new cells.
The site posed unique operational challenges due to the high volume of ongoing traffic and activity associated with being a live landfill.
Ensuring surface stability while maintaining daily operations was critical for both environmental compliance and site efficiency.
Scope
Long-term stabilisation and capping of landfill and new cell construction areas.
185,412m² treated at 2,500 kg/ha over 2 years.
The goal was to establish a durable and stable surface that could withstand ongoing landfill operations while meeting stringent environmental and structural requirements.
Our Solution
Stabi-Mulch
-
Application rate 2500-3500kg/ha dependent on site specifics, slope gradient etc
-
A mix of Pasture seed blend, winter active species to encourage growth in the winter periods
-
Starter Fertilizer
-
Polymer to provide further temporary stabilisation
Challenges
-
Managing constant landfill traffic and vehicle movements
-
Maintaining access and safety within a live operating environment
-
Working around weather and scheduling constraints
-
Meeting environmental compliance while minimizing disruption
Results
-
Project completed efficiently and without operational delays
-
Stabilised surfaces that withstand heavy use and environmental exposure
-
Positive feedback on quality, professionalism, and final finish
