Revolutionizing Mine Rehab: Instant Green's Soil Blanket

Ensure successful construction management and mine site rehabilitation from the very start with Instant Greens' dependable, tried-and-tested long-term solution: Soil Blanket with Mycorrhizal Fungi, tailored for New Zealand conditions.

BRINGING BACK NATURE

  • Restore your site to its natural state as closely as possible.

  • Implement long-term erosion control measures using natural methods.

  • Benefit from cost-effective and efficient spraying technology options for uneven, steep, or inaccessible surfaces.

  • Enhance community relationships by creating a visually appealing site.

Process:
Rehabilitation is the vital process of repairing the scars of progress caused by Mining and Civil works.

Objective:
To restore disturbed lands and waterways to an acceptable standard by revitalizing ecosystem functionality and land productivity.
  • We design cost-effective, long-term rehabilitation solutions tailored to your site’s soil conditions and project goals. Our Hydro Mulch, Soil Blanket, and Mycorrhizal Fungi promote rapid revegetation and soil stabilization—even on steep slopes, cut batters, mine tailings, or areas lacking topsoil.
With specialized hydroseeding equipment and an experienced team, we deliver full-service land remediation during and after construction.

  • Cost-Effective Results
On a recent 3ha site, we saved a client $150–200k by replacing the standard 300mm topsoil and hydroseeding approach with our advanced Soil Blanket system—achieving both temporary stability and long-term vegetation success.

  • Tough Terrain? No Problem.
Our fleet of off-road trucks and tractor units can reach the most difficult sites with ease.

Mycorrhizal Fungi:
The Key to Long-Term Nutrient Supply for Revegetation and Stabilization

What is Mycorrhizal Fungi

  • Mycorrhizae are symbiotic associations that form between the roots of plant species and fungi.

  • They create a mutually beneficial relationship where the fungi provide nutrients to the plants, and the plants provide sugars to the fungi through photosynthesis.

How does it work?

  • Mycorrhizal fungi form an intricate web that captures and assimilates nutrients from the soil to the roots.

  • They are capable of absorbing and transferring all 15 major macro and micro nutrients required for plant growth.

  • The fungi also release chemicals that dissolve hard-to-reach nutrients like phosphorus, making them available to plants.

  • Additionally, the fungi improve soil structure by producing humic compounds and 'glomalin,' a soil glue, which bind soils into aggregates and improve soil porosity.

Why do we use it?

  • In native forests and natural ecosystems, mycorrhizae naturally exist and play a vital role in supporting plant growth.

  • Mixing mycorrhizae fungi into hydromulch helps to mimic and enhance natural growth conditions.

  • The fungi mobilize essential nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus from the soil, making them more accessible to plants.

  • By incorporating mycorrhizae fungi, we can promote healthier plant establishment and growth in various environments.
