Instant Green was engaged approximatly halfway through the project, after our client had been using (with another contractor) a mix of Hay mulching with and without tackifier, hydroseed with newspaper. Before Instant Green was engaged, in some scenario’s areas were hydroseeded, hay mulched, then tackifier applied as well. A three application process!

We completed a trial area, which received over 100mm of rain within 5 days of application and showed no signs of erosion or sediment run off. Within 3 weeks we had achieved a 90% grass strike. Based on this, we proceeded to complete the remainder of the project.

We were able to hydro mulch 95% of the areas using the cannons on our units, which can reach up to 100m from the truck with out having to run any hoses. Our record day onsite we completed 28,800m2 in one day! With our offroad capable 6x6 and 8x8 trucks we were able to access tricky sites quickly and safely.

Being a windfarm, often weather conditions were not in our favor. However, when they were we were could mobilize our large-scale gear and stabilize large areas quickly. This gave our client assurance to keep top-soiling large areas, knowing we would be able to close them out quickly if a weather bomb was coming.

Overall, we completed the entire project without any rework and are proud to be contributing to the renewables energy sector as the NZ energy industry continues its transition to a cleaner, greener future.
